Holly the budgie has decided to take up a new career...hairdressing! She has been trying out her new skills on my hair. This involved nibbling the ends of my hair to give me split ends and then yanking on strands of hair to try and pull them out. Ouchies! After she is done giving me a restyle she then burrows under my hair and squishes herself into the nape of my neck and continues to nibble at my hair. It would be really cute if it wasn't slightly painful! Here is Holly relaxing under my hair, one of her favourite places to be.
The title says it all really, my life has been so hectic I haven't had chance for any me time. Thankfully it seems to be calming down now so I have plans to design lots of new toys :) A big thing in my life right now is that I have been breeding budgies for the very first time. I paired up four budgies, Evie & Theodore, and Beau & Bella and between them they have had 8 gorgeous babies who are growing up way too fast! Here are a few recent photos of my beautiful babies <3 Evie & Theodore's Babies:Beau & Bellas' BabiesToday has been a very busy day for me, I had to get up at five o clock this morning and be at work for quarter to six. I work at a newsagents/ off licence so I had to sort out all the paper rounds and serve all the half asleep customers lol. After I finished work I met up with my mum and we went shopping, after posting my very first customers order of course :) I can't wait for her to get the toys and to see photos of her fiends enjoying them. After shopping I came home and had a rest for, oh a whole half hour lol. I then decided that Ozzie and co's cage was due for its big clean. A big clean for them means stripping the cage bare, evicting them to a smaller cage and cleaning their big cage from top to bottom with warm water and F10sc disinfectant in a spray bottle. Then I cleaned all of their perches, dishes, and toys before setting up the cage again but all changed round and different toys :) Here is a photo of their cage looking pretty bare, just a couple of perches, one seed dish and their water bowl. They weren't too impressed at being evicted, even less so when they found out that all their toys had vanished. Ozzie kept trying to excape from the cage when I was putting things back in and nipping my fingers when I put his beloved mirrors back in. He was so happy to see them, he didn't see why I should put my fingers in the way of him getting to them. He didn't bite hard though, just a little nibble to let me know who is boss ha! I had some very sleepy budgies after all the excitement. Well they are all tucked up for the night but I will be taking photos of their new cage set up in the morning.
Night, night all. x Well I wasn't quite sure what to write for my very first blog post so I decided to tell you what the budgies have been up to for the past week. Ozzie and his pals in my room have been having a riot of a time, running around, flapping their wings, pushing each other off perches plus getting to eat delicious corn on the cob and nice, juicy naval oranges. Ozzie paticuarly loves corn, he likes to bite into the individual little sweetcorns and give it a good chew.
The aviary budgies also had corn on the cob this week and they stripped those cobs bare! It has to be their favourite veggie of all time, especially for Casper and Iggy. As for Holly, well let me tell you what she has been up to this week! The cheeky monkey has taken a dislike to my dad.!She bites his fingers, nibbles his hands and even bopped him on the nose the other day. Lets just say she and my dad aren't on speaking terms right now lol. She has bitten me one or twice too but nothing too nasty, I still love her and her quirky ways :) I am off to make some new toys now but will be back soon with more stories and hopefully some photos :) Rachael x |
